How many millions of Americans suffer from heartburn?  The number may be as high as 1 in 4.
Treatments to consider:
Vitamin CEGCG (found in green and white teas)
Rosemary tea
Licorice extract:  DGL (deglycyrrhizinated form)

Quercetin and curcumin help block a toxin released by helicobacter pylori.  It is this toxin that may cause ulcers.

Hesperidin and curcumin increase the protective mucus the stomach creates.

If you bloat excessively, consider being tested for small intestine bacterial overgrowth (SIBO).
This is done by a simple breath test.  See my previous blogs for more information.

Chew your food slowly, until it is liquefied, so that your stomach does not have to work as hard to process food.
Avoid Rolaids, Tums, and Maalox.
Also avoid carbonated drinks, large meals, eating right before bedtime, excessive alcohol, hot and spicy food, and peppermint candies.
Finally, sleeping with the head of bed elevated may help alleviate symptoms.
